2017 RBG Charity Shamble Tournament

RBG Charity Classic Shamble Tournament – IN MEMORY OF SHIELA MILES and DONNA MARTINEAU

The Charity Tournament was held on Tuesday, August 22nd in memory of two ladies who were both members of our league, Shiela Miles and Donna Martineau.  Funds raised this year will go to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Approximately 70 ladies took in this event. It was a beautiful evening, and many stayed to socialize after the game!

The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s mission is to improve the health of Canadians by preventing and reducing disability and death from heart disease and stroke through research, health promotion, and advocacy. Tax receipts for the donations as follows:

1st prize $350 tax receipt – Helen Stoski
2nd prize $250 tax receipt – Elaine Maloney
3rd prize $210 tax receipt – Sharon Reiner

In accordance with the regulations set up by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), official donation receipts can only be issued in the name of the individual who is the actual donor. For this reason, the RBG will provide a cheque in your name in an amount equal to the amount of the tax receipt you have won. Once you cash the cheque, you will need to make a donation in that amount in your name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation https://hsf.donorportal.ca/and provide a copy of the receipt to the RBG for the records.  A scanned copy of the receipt can be emailed to the Treasurer, Jean Melnychuk at jmelnych1@shaw.ca or a photocopy provided Jean on a Tuesday or at the closing banquet.
