President’s Message 2 – May 2016

TEE TIMES:  Well, the season is off to such a great start with about 100 members teeing off each Tuesday.  The tee times are going a bit late because of the turnout, but as the season progresses many members will be away on holidays and have other commitments, so the tee times will be more reasonable.  We really appreciate your patience as the Draw Committee does their best to accommodate everyone.

RULES CLINIC: The Rules Clinic last Monday had a great turnout with 13 members in attendance.  Elaine Maloney led a great review of general etiquette and basic rules, and more in-depth discussion of a few of the more involved rules.  We’re so fortunate to have such a tremendous in-house resource.  Thank you so much, Elaine!

UPCOMING EVENTS: Stay tuned for details of the first Tuesday night fun tournament on Tuesday, May 31 and be sure to stay for the social afterwards.  I encourage you all to “table hop” that night.  It’s such a great way to meet other members of the club.

EDMONTON WOMAN MAGAZINE:  This magazine is free and distributed in boxes all over town.  If you check out Page 21 of the May/June edition, I am quoted (as President of our club) in an article about women and golfing.  If you want to see the article paste this address in your browser and go to page 21:  http://edition.pagesuite-professional.co.uk/launch.aspx?pbid=4658af69-2a98-4d71-a298-a53f43ed68c6  It’s a great little magazine with lots of interesting profiles of women and events around town.

Keep swinging!

Jacqueline Broverman, President
